How to apply:

 

Due to recommendations from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and the American Medical Association (AMA), the upcoming interview season will be held virtually. Applications will be reviewed through ERAS and interviews will be scheduled via Microsoft Teams. Interviews will begin in November 2021. Details will be provided at time of interview selection.

The program will be accepting PGY-1 applications starting September 2021 for training beginning July 2022.

All applications must be submitted through the Electronic Resident Application Service (ERAS). Our NRMP Program Code is 1295300C0.

All applications must include:
1. Three professional letters of reference
2. A personal statement detailing interests in pathology and career plans
3. Documentation of USMLE examination results
4. Certified transcript of medical school
 
Applications for consideration for the following calendar year are accepted until December 1, 2021. Candidates must be graduates of approved medical schools in the United States or Canada or from recognized international medical schools. Applicants from approved international medical schools must possess a current valid ECFMG certificate and qualify for licensure in the state of Michigan. Completed applications are reviewed regularly by the Residency Committee from September through November. To be competitive, applicants are encouraged to apply early. Selected candidates will be invited for virtual interview & tour.  Interviews are held October through January. 

The Department participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) and applicants should be registered to be considered for the residency program.
