Education
Our department has multiple medical educational responsibilities. Medical student instruction in Pathology occurs throughout much of the curriculum, but primarily in year 2 (during which Pathology occupies the largest single disciplinary block of time) and year 4 (in which a number of electives are offered in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology). We have 12 residency positions available over four years leading to board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. We also offer sub-specialty fellowship training in:
- Cytopathology
- Hematopathology
- Pediatric Pathology
- Surgical Pathology
The Department is also deeply involved in the teaching of Pathology within the Wayne Sate University Allied Health and Education Programs, including the Cytotechnology Program, the Histotechnology Clinical Program and the Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Scientist Clinical Program.
