Academic Pediatric Pathologist - Children's Hospital of Michigan

The Department of Pathology, Wayne State University and Children's Hospital of Michigan at the Detroit Medical Center announce an opening for an academic pediatric pathologist to join the Department of Pathology. Children's Hospital of Michigan is a freestanding institution that is part of the seven-hospital Detroit Medical Center and serves as a major teaching and research center for the Wayne State University School of Medicine.

The Department accessions over 5,000 surgical specimens annually, covering the entire spectrum of pediatric diseases. The department at large enjoys a comprehensive range of diagnostic and research expertise including perinatal and placental pathology, neuropathology and the full spectrum of pathology subspecialty areas. State of the art clinical laboratories are well integrated within the department services including cytogenetics and molecular diagnostics, HLA and biomedical genetic labs. The position offers tremendous research opportunities in copartnership with the basic science and clinical faculty of the department and with its extensive collaborative clinical and translational research programs.
