This position is full time, daytime shift. Duties include cell culture, harvest, G-banding and FISH analysis of amniotic fluid, choronic villi, peripheral blood, bone marrow and tissue specimens. Under general supervision, performs cytogenetic and FISH analysis of specimens received by the laboratory on patient specimens according to established standards and practices. Key areas of responsibility include: accessioning, culture initiations, harvesting, staining, quality control procedures, record keeping and chromosome analysis. Calculates test findings and maintains records. Prepares and determines validity of solutions, reagents, media, stains and various materials in the testing processes.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, or related science. Training in cytogenetics will be provided in the laboratory.
