Biography
Dr. Rayes earned his medical degree from Damascus University in Syria. He completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, followed by a fellowship in forensic pathology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Returning to Michigan, he joined the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office as an assistant medical examiner and now serves as the deputy chief medical examiner. Dr. Rayes is board-certified in anatomic, clinical, and forensic pathology, his research focuses on infectious disease related mortalities and toxicology. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and motorcycle riding, as well as exploring nature through drones, photography, and binoculars.
