Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Pathobiology

The mission of the Molecular and Cellular Pathobiology (MCP) PhD Program at Wayne State University School of Medicine is to train independent investigators for leadership roles in academic and non-academic careers. By leveraging extensive cellular and molecular pathobiological expertise within the Department of Pathology, our faculty guide doctoral dissertation research into the mechanisms underlying the development and progression of cancer and the molecular mechanisms that drive metabolic diseases. Through rigorous didactic coursework, scientific and hands-on training, and tailored mentorship, students develop advanced analytical skills, master state-of-the-art research techniques, and build a strong foundation for long-term success in biomedical science.
