Dr. Lee’s laboratory studies Sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P), a serum-borne bioactive lipid, with a focus on S1P-mediated signaling pathways in vascular functions, inflammation, and tumorigenesis. Dr. Lee received his PhD degree from McGill University (Montreal, Canada), and postdoctoral fellowship training at the Holland Laboratory/American Red Cross and University of Connecticut Health Science Center. Prior to moving to Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Lee was a faculty at the University of Louisville, Louisville, Kentucky.

He completed his post graduate training as a resident in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the Department of Pathology of Wayne State University/the Detroit Medical Center in 2004. Subsequently, he completed two fellowships at the Henry Ford Health System in Pathology Informatics; 2006 and in Cytopathology; 2007. Dr. Tranchida returned to our department for a Surgical Pathology Fellowship training primarily at Harper University Hospital and the Karmanos Cancer Center.
