Histotechnology Clinical Program

The Histotechnology Clinical Program is accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS). Our School of Histotechnology at Detroit Medical Center offers 36-weeks of clinical training that covers tissue specimens receiving and accession, preparation of tissue specimens for microscopic examination, frozen section assistance, basics of tissue structures and staining characteristics, and equipment maitenance. Our program Medical Advisor is Dr. Dong Ping Shi, M.D.
